Why work with me

Whether it’s public access to untouched wilderness, a suburban community park or a bustling downtown streetscape, I love helping people engage the natural world in their daily lives. I believe in growing teams in organizations with healthy values and a commitment to improving the communities they serve.

My peers, colleagues and clients know me for my creativity, vision and thoughtful management in consistently delivering results that make a difference. I enjoy a strategic and pragmatic approach to planning - making places that are not only unique, but also sustainable to grow and maintain for decades.

With two decades of practice, my leadership and design experience spans the country, and today, I’ve made a home on Michigan’s “third coast” in Holland. I excel in park planning, design and vision, and I also have a sub-specialty in urban design.

Foundational Goals

1.

To improve the way we experience the environment through a holistic approach to each project, and by being conscious of the past, present, and future.

2.

To foster stewardship and land ethics in all my work by balancing the human impact on the land with the intrinsic qualities of an area.

3.

To create environments that empower people of varying backgrounds to work together for the common good of community and creation.
